Presenting new paintings from Toronto artists Scott Griffin & Rita Koos. We've been showing Scott's artwork since 2002 or so. Back then, he was using a blow torch to draw on salvaged metal. In the early 2000's he switched to painting with encaustic on salvaged lumber. His latest work is more traditional in nature: acrylic and latex paint on canvas. Through these various mediums he has maintained his own characters, aesthetic, and sense of style.
We're excited to now show Scott's wife Rita's work. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she immigrated to Canada in 1988, married Scott, and took up painting in 2014. Her bright, almost lurid palette both contrasts & compliments Scott's quiet and more muted tones.
