The gallery will be open this week on Thursday afternoon from 12 - 3, then closed for the weekend.

Austin artist Will Johnson explores the history of baseball in a series of portraits of players. An avid baseball fan since childhood, he roots for the St. Louis Cardinals.

Johnson said that he began creating baseball paintings in 2007 or 2008, wanting to pay tribute to some of his favorite players and stories — especially unheralded players — through folk art paintings. Friends commissioned some of the work, which led to art shows.

Will is also a well-known musician, having played with Centromatic, Monsters of Folk, South San Gabriel. He's made lots of solo albums. He's currently touring as a member of Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit.
